Everything is provided — just bring yourself with permission to have fun! There will be a free wallhanging kit and gift bag when you arrive.  The first and last day are your time to get settled, get familiar with the facility and get to know the educators and other quilters. 

Amazing retreat facility. Escape to a quilter’s paradise at Windward Retreat Center. Relax and unwind in this quilting studio while enjoying small group training, meals, and accommodations for 6 nights. Includes airport transportation and 5 days of exclusive projects. Shared rooms with 3 twin beds and 2 spacious bathrooms for 6 quilters.

This itinerary is for new Handi Quilter owners, refresher course for owners, anyone interested exploring quilting and the artistic possibilities.

March 13 – arrive (Receive take home – Wall hanging kit) 

March 14 – Introduction to all the machines, accessories and quilt making process 

March 15 Free Motion morning class and Ruler afternoon class 

March 16 – Pro-Stitcher computerized quilting

March 17 – Project play day- make and take activity

March 18 – Quilting Beginning to End. How quilt making effects longarm quilting. (Bonus:  T-shirt and memory quilts) 

March 19  – depart

Session 2

with educator Bernadette Kent 

This course is for any Handi Quilter owner that is familiar with their machine and wants to play and explore with accessories, threads and projects

 

March 20 – arrive (Receive a wallhanging quilt kit to work on throughout the week) 

March 21 – Edge to edge quilting – PS, FM, QFB – Playing with design scales, shapes and finding the right thread.  

March 22nd – Aster & Anne Wool Bag – Embellishing – 

March 23rd – Quilting custom blocks on pillows and clothes. Zentango Designs.

March 24th – Abstract Design and Exploration Project – rough appliqué, channels and working with fills to add to design library.

March 25th – Open Sew and one on one qulting; Finish Quilt Wallhanging Kit; Receive a Kaye Collins project to work on or take home and continue working on other class projects

March 26 –  depart
