The Complete Quilt Club

First Wednesday 10 – 12

Do you have questions about making a quilt? Not enjoying a step in the quilt making process? Want help on, “How to quilt this?” This club is about the full quilt making process and how the method of piecing affects the quilting.  We are going to discuss all the details no one talks about on YouTube or in patterns.

Let’s explore design elements within the quilt making process. You will receive a quilt project that we work on when we meet monthly. The focus is to explore design creativity. Start with an introduction to the project, the second month we access and plan how to finish the quilt leaving the third month to share our design choices to grow inspiration from each other.

Build a Quilt Library – Virtual

Second Friday 7 – 8 

Quilting Zoomers want help to manage and use your quilting designs. Everyone has a quilting library.  It may be straight lines or meandering but those are the start to a library.  Let’s share and grow our libraries. It doesn’t matter how you quilt. Let’s explore all shapes, sizes and styles of designs and find the best way for you to organize a working design library.

Building Blocks – In person or Quilt-Along 

Third Thursday 10 – 12

Building Blocks focuses on quilting beyond edge to edge designs. Concentrating on a shape and how to quilt it; section by section until a panel is complete. If you attend all year you will complete two panels. Join us randomly throughout the year for an independent lesson. This club is designed to help all quilters. 

Let’s gather, share and grow. We start off with talking story then move on to show and tell. Working with an agenda about specific thread, quilt designs and machine features. With a snack, mingle and shopping break before the demonstration. We will finish the club meeting with a break out session for Pro-Stitcher or free sew. An opportunity to stay and play.

Quilting Zoomers join this club to get to know Barb and the quilting community; that is building in Hawaii.  This club is an opportunity to lead you to create the quilts you want to make in the future. Discussions will be based on a questionnaire workbook to help you focus on your inner quilter and what you enjoy creating.  

STUDIO SHOPPING

Open the second week of each month Sunday – Saturday 10-3 and 6-8pm.

As a home based quilt studio regular hours are set for you to stop by. Want to see a demonstration, test drive a machine, shop for fabric, pick out threads, find a quilt notion or to just talk about your project. Come shop a large selection of 108 wide fabric. Appointments can be scheduled as early as 0800 or as late as 8pm any day of the week.

We have options for every style of quilter, and with clubs scheduled at various times throughout the month, there’s no excuse not to join in on the fun.  Be a part of the quilty clubhouse community of quilters and let’s create something amazing together!  Art Quilts Hawaii is for quilters, sewers, stitchers and makers throughout Hawaii.
