You’ll learn a unique “secret sauce” for the placement of fabrics that gives you freedom and flexibility—no more following rigid block patterns. This relaxed, creative technique lets you design a layout that’s completely your own, while still enjoying the simplicity of the 9-patch block.
To mark the occasion, I’ll have a variety of red, white, and blue fabrics, plus samples made with Hawaiian precuts—perfect inspiration for this Memorial Day weekend. Bring your own stash to cut into squares, or choose from a wide selection of fabrics in-store to match your theme or color story.

Barb’s signature teaching style blends hands-on demonstrations, inspiring samples, clear block instructions, and plenty of encouragement — helping you gain confidence without ever feeling boxed in. While Barb doesn’t offer prepackaged, one-size-fits-all kits, she does offer carefully curated fabric selections. You’ll have the option to purchase a kit featuring Barb’s fabric choices, or she’ll help you select your own fabrics to match your personal style and make your blocks truly shine.
